In September 2001, Meridian conducted a two-day dialogue on liability and redress issues in the context of the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety. The participants—who included 22 individuals from government ministries, corporations, nongovernmental organizations, and others—recommended activities that should be undertaken to help delegates to the Intergovernmental Committee on the Cartagena Protocol to better understand liability and redress issues.
