DC Transit Alternatives Analysis and Anacostia Corridor Demonstration Project

The District of Columbia Transit Alternatives Analysis and Anacostia Corridor Demonstration Project was an 18-month joint study effort between the District and the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority to examine new transit alternatives such as light rail and bus rapid transit within the District. In addition to engineering and environmental assessments, the study included a public participation component. Meridian Institute assisted Justice and Sustainability Associates, a DC-based dispute resolution organization, in conducting initial focus groups that captured community views and ideas about transit technologies, route alignment, station areas, and more.
