Jackson Hole Open Space

Related: Environment and Natural Resources

The National Park Service asked Meridian Institute and the University of Wyoming’s Institute for Environment and Natural Resources to jointly convene and facilitate a group to carry out the mandates of federal legislation calling for an assessment of approaches to preserving open space south of Grand Teton National Park. The process resulted in a report containing a series of recommendations to the National Park Service regarding how best to manage the open space. The report was integrated into the formal report of the Park Service to the Congress, as called for in the authorizing legislation.
