In October 2013, the Oregon Department of Forestry initiated a multi-stakeholder assessment of alternative forest management approaches for Oregon State Forests. The process was facilitated by Meridian Institute, and consisted of a series of 4 meetings. The Stakeholder Group, which is comprised of timber, environmental, and county government interests, was charged with developing an overall approach and/or set of specific alternative options for management of those lands, taking into account the full range of economic, environmental, and social benefits and costs, and the tradeoffs among them.
