Meridian Institute

Alaska Marine Conservation Council

Related: Environment and Natural Resources

The Alaska Marine Conservation Council (AMCC) is a nonprofit organization based in Anchorage that works to promote healthy oceans and healthy communities in Alaska. In 2007 and 2008, Meridian Institute assisted the AMCC in planning and implementing a transition to a new Executive Director.

Meridian conducted interviews and facilitated meetings among the board, staff, and external stakeholders to assess the organization’s strengths, define strategic priorities, and identify its most effective niche. Meridian also facilitated a hiring committee of the Board to conduct the selection process for the new Executive Director. After a new director was hired, Meridian facilitated strategic planning meetings with the staff and new director and the board. These efforts were conducted with funding from the Packard Foundation.
