Arizona/New Mexico Ponderosa Pine Forest Restoration

Related: Environment and Natural Resources

In November 2001, Meridian Institute staff facilitated a two-day meeting among 16 representatives of environmental NGOs involved in ponderosa pine forest restoration and advocacy. At the meeting, participants shared their perspectives on approaches to the restoration of ponderosa pine ecosystems in an effort to understand areas of commonality and difference and the underlying reasons for differing perspectives. They also identified opportunities for better collaboration and cooperation to more effectively fund and advocate for the protection and management of these unique forests. The meeting was held in Flagstaff, Arizona.
