California Climate Change Workshop

Related: Climate Change

The California Climate Change Workshop was organized jointly by Stanford University’s Institute for the Environment, the University of California at Berkeley, and the University of California at Davis, with process support from the Meridian Institute. The goal of the workshop was to provide an opportunity for dialogue between researchers and decision makers on key policy issues related to state and private-sector plans for responding to the challenge of climate change.

The workshop’s specific objectives were to help meet the needs of decision makers for scientific and technical input into decisions and policy choices, and to identify needs that could guide further research. Participants included researchers working on climate policy as well as decision makers from government, businesses, and nongovernmental organizations. The workshop resulted in an in-depth exploration of short-, medium-, and long-term solutions to climate change challenges.
