Feed the Future Research Agenda

Related: Agriculture and Food Security

In 2010, Meridian was asked by the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities, the Board for International Food and Agricultural Development, and Purdue University to assist in the design and facilitation of a large workshop. The purpose of the workshop was to provide input on the research strategy for the U.S. Agency for International Developmentā€™s Feed the Future (FTF) agricultural development program.

The workshop was held in January 2011 at Purdue. It engaged approximately 100 thought leaders from U.S.-based universities and the international research community, as well as from funding agencies, private foundations, and industry. In discussing the overall FTF research strategy, participants provided perspectives on broad research challenges, integrating research with human and institutional capacity building, and developing and implementing a way forward to engage the full participation of the domestic and international research communities to make recommendations that support the FTF goals and research themes.
