Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre, and Gunnison National Forests Core Planning Team Sessions

Related: Environment and Natural Resources

In 2002, Meridian staff planned and facilitated two teambuilding and strategic planning sessions for the Core Planning Team involved in the forest plan revision process for the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre, and Gunnison National Forests in southwestern Colorado.

This internal team was responsible for implementing a collaborative process with the public to develop geographic area assessments for the forests, as a preparatory step for the more-formal forest plan revision process. The two sessions focused on developing a more effective team and a realistic strategy for the implementation of their responsibilities. The effort was intended to improve the public scoping process and provide an opportunity for more meaningful involvement from affected communities.
