Meridian Institute

Initiative for Global Development National Summit

Related: Resilience

In 2006, Meridian Institute staff designed and facilitated a high-level conference to address how the private sector could help support US government activities aimed at alleviating global poverty (i.e., through public/private partnerships). Held in Washington, DC, the conference brought together 150 representatives from business and government, including leading thinkers such as Carly Fiorina and Ted Turner. Then-President George W. Bush was the keynote speaker. The conference was sponsored by the Seattle-based Initiative for Global Development.
