International Dialogue on Responsible Research and Development of Nanotechnology

Related: Science and Technology

Meridian Institute facilitated two meetings of the International Dialogue on Responsible Research and Development. The 2004 meeting was held in the United States; the 2006 meeting in Japan. Each involved representatives from more than 25 countries and focused on how to best ensure that nanotechnology research and development programs are carried out in a responsible manner. Both meetings covered a broad range of topics, including issues related to regulation and governance, health and safety, the environment, and ethics, as well as issues unique to developing countries.
