PhRMA Foundation Training Grant Meeting

Related: Health

In May 2007, Meridian Institute facilitated a meeting at the request of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) Foundation board of directors regarding grants for training programs in the pharmaceutical field. The meeting included three panels covering the areas of advanced clinical trials, clinical pharmacology, and pharmacoepidemiology. Each panel discussed and developed recommendations for the PhRMA Foundation regarding the need for a training grant program in their field, the types of trainees and institutions that should be served by the grants, how much the grants would cost, the design of the grant structure, and how success should be measured. A total of 20 experts took part in the panels, including from academic and research institutions and pharmaceutical companies.
