TEAM Network Steering Committee Facilitation

Related: Climate Change and Energy, Environment and Natural Resources, Science and Technology

In November 2011, Meridian Institute facilitated a one-day Steering Committee meeting for the Tropical Ecology, Assessment, and Monitoring (TEAM) Network. The primary objective of the meeting was for the Steering Committee to to develop and agree on a fundraising strategy and plan for the next several years.

TEAM is a partnership among Conservation International, the Missouri Botanical Garden, the Smithsonian Institution, and the Wildlife Conservation Society. TEAM's global network of scientists collects and distributes near-real-time data on trends in biodiversity, climate, land cover changes, and ecosystem services.

Currently operating at 17 sites in Africa, Asia, and Latin America, TEAM scientists monitor tropical forest landscapes using high-resolution remote sensing combined with strategically placed ground measurements to collect data that the network makes publicly available in as near real-time as possible.
