US Environmental Protection Agency Strategic Plan Revision Meetings

Related: Environment and Natural Resources

Under the Government Performance and Results Act, federal agencies must develop five-year strategic plans containing a mission statement and goals. In 2003, Meridian Institute facilitated a stakeholder meeting for the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to solicit input on the development of the EPA’s revised strategic plan. Participants included senior leaders from state government, the environmental community, industry, tribal nations, and other key interest groups. In addition, Meridian facilitated a meeting between the EPA’s senior management team and the deputy administrator to decide on revisions to the agency’s mission and goal structure, in order to guide the development of the revised EPA strategic plan.
