About Meghan Massaua

Meghan Massaua is a Senior Mediator and Program Manager. She has been an integral contributor and leader of projects in Meridian’s ocean portfolio, including advancing ocean policy, improving aquaculture and fisheries management, and supporting responsible offshore wind development. Meghan is passionate about working across perspectives and disciplines to address shared challenges by facilitating policy dialogues, designing collaborative processes, and helping uncover shared values. Meghan is leading efforts at Meridian to enhance effectiveness of collaboration through mindfulness principles and is working to enhance wellbeing in the workplace.

Highlights of her time at Meridian include bringing a group of diverse stakeholders for an experiential site visit on both indigenous and conventional forms of aquaculture in Hawai’i, and facilitating a retreat among a community of nonprofits working to create environmental and social change by enhancing wellbeing and implementing mindful principles. Meghan feels most excited when she is creating spaces for people to connect with one another authentically and learn together.

Meghan has over 15 years of experience in marine science and policy, supporting a variety of efforts to advance research, engage stakeholders, build collaboration, and develop effective strategies for positive change. Prior to joining Meridian, she advanced offshore renewable energy at the U.S. Department of Energy and supported a variety of targeted marine ecology and policy efforts in the Northeast and Pacific Northwest.

Meghan enjoys being outside as much as possible—often in, near, or on the water. Meghan works from New Hampshire; she is a graduate of Clark University with a Master’s degree from the University of Washington.

Meridian creates space for effective discussions that build trust, develop strategies, and set goals to achieve maximum impact. We work to ensure that projects result in lasting change to make our world a better place.
