About Tori Anderson
Tori Anderson is a Mediator and Program Associate at Meridian. She is interested in grounding the ecological objectives of natural resource stewards in the needs and values of the communities they serve. In her time at Meridian, she has worked on natural resource, forest, and food system projects. A highlight of her work has been the Tongass Transition Collaborative in Southeast Alaska. This stakeholder group, which emerged from the Tongass Federal Advisory Committee, provides recommendations to the Forest Service on forest planning efforts, integrated resource management possibilities, and partnership opportunities as the region transitions from old growth to primarily young growth logging.
Prior to joining Meridian, Tori worked as an environmental educator for the National Park Service, higher education institutions, and various non-profits across the western United States. As a graduate student in both Agricultural & Applied Economics and Environment & Natural Resources at the University of Wyoming, she researched methods of measuring and improving collaborative solutions to natural resource management, focusing on gray wolf management in Colorado. Prior to joining Meridian, she worked for The Langdon Group as a Public Involvement Associate in Salt Lake City, where she engaged community members in decision making processes at various local, state, and federal government agencies.
Originally from North Carolina, Tori and her dog, Terra, now call Montana home. After work, you can find her exploring the local trails and rivers, searching for powder, trying a new recipe, or attempting a new hobby – pottery, most recently!
