Meridian Supports Workforce Development at Aquaculture America

Meridian facilitated two events at Aquaculture America 2024 (the U.S.’s largest aquaculture conference) on the topic of workforce development. First, Meridian collaborated with the U.S. Aquaculture Society to host a panel and reception focused on enhancing diversity and inclusion in U.S. aquaculture. Meridian also facilitated a closed-door roundtable discussion with 25 U.S. aquaculture stakeholders (including industry representatives, educators, non-profits, and federal agencies) on shared workforce needs and collaborative opportunities for workforce development. Meridian built new connections, engaged aquaculture stakeholders, and attended sessions in service of creating continued opportunities to support responsible aquaculture development domestically. The team enjoyed being together in person, hosting a dinner for the DEI-Aquaculture Community of Practice (a working group Meridian convenes year-round that helped plan the roundtable) and exploring the city!
