Meridian Facilitates Inaugural Foster & Gather Summit

Meridian facilitated the inaugural Foster & Gather Summit – a multi-stakeholder convening aimed at developing collaborative solutions to end factory animal farming in the U.S. In collaboration with The Transfarmation Project and Amanda Cramer Events, Meridian co-hosted 70+ farmers, local community leaders, animal rights organizations, businesses, NGOs, and philanthropies in Charlotte, North Carolina to reflect on the challenges and opportunities in the domestic food system and collectively identify alternatives to factory animal farming that center racial and gender equity, sustainability, and farmers’ livelihoods. Participants engaged in small breakout conversations, interactive farmer panels, and plenary discussions, which led to the development of implementable actions that participating organizations can replicate in their work to advance alternatives to factory animal farming.
