About Todd Barker
Todd Barker is the CEO of Meridian Institute, a 25-year-old nonprofit consultancy that serves as a trusted third party, supporting diverse stakeholders in addressing complex and controversial societal issues. In addition to his role at Meridian Institute, Todd is President of Meridian Prime and Meridian Implementation Fund. Meridian Prime provides fiscal sponsor services to mission-aligned initiatives, while Meridian Implementation Fund engages in legislative efforts on behalf of stakeholders who have built consensus through Meridian Institute projects.
In addition to his organizational leadership responsibilities, Todd serves as a strategic advisor on a wide range of Meridian projects. His portfolio focuses on issues such as climate, energy, food systems (terrestrial and aquatic), biodiversity, systemic risk, and systemic investing. He has extensive experience both in the USA and internationally.
Todd began his career as a mediator, facilitator, and strategist over 30 years ago, working on the cleanup of the Rocky Flats nuclear weapons facility in the USA. He is a trusted advisor to foundations and funder collaboratives, and he has served on multiple boards.
A native of Kansas, Todd now lives in Vermont with his partner Val. They also enjoy time in Switzerland and Colorado, where Todd’s family cabin is nestled 30 miles from the nearest town. When he is not working or spending time with his children, Todd enjoys running, skiing, and cooking alongside Val.
