About Michael R. Taylor
Mike Taylor has been a Senior Fellow at Meridian since 2017. He has worked on projects related to food safety in Africa, including the Partnership for Aflatoxin Control in Africa and a major study for the Global Food Safety Partnership at the World Bank on international food safety donor investment in Africa.
Mike has held senior leadership positions at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and U.S. Department of Agriculture, most recently as the Deputy Commissioner for Foods and Veterinary Medicine. He currently co-chairs the board of Stop Foodborne Illness, a 25-year-old consumer organization representing victims of foodborne illness and their families.
Mike lives in suburban Maryland with his wife Christine, with whom he shares the summer soap opera known as the Washington Nationals. Mike and Christine also enjoy national parks and spending time in Brooklyn with Mike’s daughter.
