About Jimena Solano
Jimena Solano is a Mediator and Program Manager in Meridian’s Washington, D.C. office. She manages and supports projects related to climate change policy, deforestation, and the transition towards sustainable food systems. These include the Forest Declaration Platform (formerly the New York Declaration on Forests) and Regen10 projects allowing her to tackle all three challenges through collaboration with civil society organizations, governments, and the private sector to achieve progress on ending deforestation and supporting food systems transformation.
Jimena has been dedicated to environmental policy and law throughout her career. Trained as a lawyer, she practiced constitutional, administrative, and environmental law in Mexico City before joining the staff of the Presidency of Mexico. She has worked in the non-profit sector on issues of climate mitigation, water access, and waste management. Before joining Meridian, she worked for the Climate Co-Benefits Team within the Climate Change Group at the World Bank Group.
Jimena lives in Washington, D.C. and enjoys running and biking with her husband and testing out tahini baked goods recipes.
