Mark Newberg

Mark Newberg is a Meridian Affiliate based in Boston, Massachusetts. He is the President of Stockbridge Advisors, a strategic consulting firm focused on the Impact Economy and ESG. Over the past decade, he has led Impact and ESG-related initiatives in both the public and private sector, including for-profit strategy development for fast-growing businesses, federal policy creation, and disaster recovery.

Prior to founding Stockbridge Advisors, Mark served as Director of Impact Strategies for a transatlantic law firm, Deputy Director of the Global Innovation Summit, and a Senior Policy Advisor at the US Small Business Administration. In this role, he co-authored the initial impact investing policy framework for the White House Office of Social Innovation and Civic Participation. This became a template for future impact investing initiatives in both government and the private sector. Mark was also a Post-Katrina Advisor to the New Orleans City Council, where he helped shape cross-sector initiatives straddling the transition from disaster response to economic recovery.

Mark is a longtime fan of creative cooking, a frequent mentor and advisor to impact-focused startups across the country, and a life-long member of Red Sox Nation (he did grow up in Boston, after all).
