About Sara Schmidt

Sara Schmidt is a Mediator and Program Associate. Her work at Meridian involves a variety of projects, including collaborative solution-finding for issues facing Western landscapes and communities, facilitating multisector aquaculture engagement, and supporting the development of high-integrity voluntary carbon markets.

Prior to joining Meridian, Sara spent 11 years with the community-based collaborative Blackfoot Challenge. While there, she developed skills in coordination, facilitation, and communication, as well as a deep appreciation and respect for well-designed and executed collaborative processes that can transform complex problems into durable solutions.

Sara lives in Western Montana with her partner and two intrepid husky mixes, Apollo and Enza. When not working, Sara can be found backcountry skiing in the winter, floating down rivers in the summer, chasing big game in the fall, and with her nose in a good book all year round.
