In Vitoria-Gasteiz, Basque Country, JRT and Regen10 attend Global Conference on Family Farming

Meridian attended the World Rural Forum’s 8th Global Conference on Family Farming: Sustainability of our Planet. Representing the Just Rural Transition (JRT) and Regen10 initiatives, Melissa Pinfield and Holly Foster heard from farmer, youth, and women’s organizations from around the world to discuss the vital role that family farmers play in building a more sustainable future while participating in climate discussions, negotiations, and in their financing mechanisms. Conversations from the conference will be taken forward with the continued development of the Non-State Actors Call to Action for Transforming Food Systems for People, Nature, and Climate, launched at COP28.
